Health Careers Graduates of the Health Careers course are prepared to give personal care to sick or injured people, to provide home management assistance and to perform skills required in a medical or dental office. Students are prepared for a wide variety of health occupations. Applicants for this course must have completed ninth grade. During this three year program, students combine hands-on experience in a nursing home with classroom instruction. Health Care Fundamentals II is the State approved Nurse Aide Training Program**. Upon successful completion of Health Care Fundamentals II, the student will be eligible to sit for the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Program. (State Nurse Aide "Certification" Exam). ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY - 1crIntricate study of the human body and diseases from childhood to geriatrics. The foundation for course work in the health related professions. MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY - 1cr HEALTH CARE FUNDAMENTALS I - 1cr NUTRITION - 1cr KEYBOARDING & FORMATTING FOR HEALTH CARE - 1cr INTRODUCTION TO ADVANCED TOPICS IN HEALTH CARE -
1.5 cr Divided into two main sections in order to provide the student with an introduction to basic skills for diversified health fields. Exploration of medical billing. Therapeutic Core: Diagnostic Core: ELECTIVES: (Level II students must take one)
