Computer Aided Drafting & Design

Drafters prepare detailed drawings based on rough sketches, specifications and calculations made by scientists, engineers, architects and designers. Students in this course prepare drawings using compasses, dividers, protractors, triangles and computer-aided drafting devices. Applicants for this course must have completed ninth grade and must have passed Algebra I.

BASIC DRAFTING SKILLS I - .5 cr
Drafting, equipment, engineering lettering, proper drawing techniques, geometric construction and orthographic projection.

INTRODUCTION TO AUTO CAD - .5 cr
Basic Auto CAD drawing skills, options and editing.

INTRODUCTION TO AUTOCAD II - 1 cr
Basic Auto CAD drawing skills, drawing, extruding and auxiliary views.

ARCHITECTURAL DESKTOP - 1 cr
Basic Auto CAD drawing skills, options, and editing.

ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTING II - 1 cr
Working drawings which include floor plans, elevation views, wall sections and two point perspective.

MECHANICAL DRAFTING I - 1 cr
Manufacturing processes, basic welding, fasteners and precision measurements.

MECHANICAL DRAFTING II - 1 cr
Spring, cams, advanced dimensioning and assembly, and detail drawings.

ELECTRONIC DRAFTING - 1 cr
Electronic components, electronic drawings, wiring diagrams and the engineering department.

ELECTIVES
MECHANICAL DESKTOP - 1 cr
Basic Auto CAD drawing skills, option, and editing.

ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTING I - 1 cr
House considerations, house construction, window, door, fireplace, stair layout and structural members.

LAND DEVELOPMENT DESKTOP - 1 cr
Basic Auto CAD drawing skills, options, and editing.
