Welding

Welding is a 1080 hour program. Students learn techniques for various pieces of welding equipment and the safety precautions that relate to them. They also learn the most common types of welding such as oxygen acetylene, shielded metal arc weld (stick), gas metal arc (mig), steel & aluminum, gas tungsten arc (tig), flux cored arc weld, carbon arc gouge, blueprint reading, and welding symbol.

UTILIZE SAFETY PRACTICES & TECHNIQUES ~ 90hr/3cr
Knowledge and skill acquired and needed in the safety practices and techniques in the welding trade.

OXYGEN ACETYLENE CUTTING & WELDING ~ 90hr/3cr
Oxygen acetylene cutting and welding techniques.

SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING & EQUIPMENT ~ 90hr/3cr
Reinforce the knowledge and skill of shielded metal arc welding and the machines and equipment used to perform the arc welds.

WELDING FUNDAMENTALS ~ 90hr/3cr
Reinforce the knowledge and skills acquired in the welding fundamentals and build confidence to refine the basic fundamentals.

GAS METAL ARC WELDING ~ 180hr/6cr
Reinforce the knowledge and skills in gas metal arc welding and build confidence to refine the basic MIG welds and the set-up of the equipment.

GAS TUNGSTEN ARC WELDING ~ 180hr/6cr
Reinforce the knowledge and skill of gas tungsten arc welding and build the confidence to refine the basics of TIG welding and the equipment setup.

FLUX CORED ARC WELDING ~ 90hr/3cr
Reinforce the knowledge and skills in flux cored arc welding and build confidence to refine the basic fundamentals.

DRAWING & WELDING SYMBOLS INTERPRETATION ~ 180hr/6cr
Knowledge and skills acquired and needed in the safety practices and techniques in the welding trade.

ARC CUTTING PRINCIPLES & PRACTICES ~ 90hr/3cr
Reinforce the knowledge and skills of arc cutting and refine the basics of arc cutting and the equipment setup.
