We are glad that you stopped by to learn about Audacity!

Audacity is an easy to use program that helps us to post classroom discussions and audio study guides on the web.    Once these audio files are on the web, students can download the files to their MP3 players and distant parents or grandparents can listen via the Web to participate in class activities.

This self-paced learning resource will get us started recording and editing audio files that can be put on the Web for students, parents and grandparents to enjoy.  Feel free to spend as much time as you need, and skip over the things that you already know.  The tabs at the top an bottom of each page will take you to the beginning of each module.

Module 1 - Introduction: Find out what Audacity is all about and how it can support student achievement.

Module 2 - Capture: How can I get my voice into the computer?  What else can I record on a computer?

Module 3 - Edit: Clean up the recording, just extract a sound byte, and other Watergate Tape tricks.

Module 4 - Save and Share: Putting audio recordings to work.
